Arrow sculptures in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Base is cedar, fletching is paper. The shaft is made from the dried stems of roses with the thorns still intact. My intention is what I call “sensory distraction” depriving the viewer of the sense of touch, but triggering the mind to think about how it would feel if you did. Working with roses at Park Deli, I get stabbed by thorns constantly, being reminded of the pain that one must go through to enjoy beauty. Edition of six, signed, numbered and cataloged Aprox 18-21" tall, base 3.5 x5"
